Zelda's 2015 Release Delayed

  Legendary Delays

The latest addition to the Legend of Zelda franchise slated for release late this year, has been delayed.

In a video released by Nintendo on various social media, Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma announced that the upcoming Legend of Zelda game that was set to be released later in 2015 has been delayed. This was confirmed on Twitter by Nintendo declaring that it will not be making an appearance at E3 in June.

But what is the reason for the delay of one of the consoles most anticipated games? According to Aonuma there have been major new discoveries for the game, that will seemingly improve the title far beyond previously planned,

"In these last three months, as the team has experienced first-hand the freedom of exploration that hasn't existed in any Zelda game to date, we have discovered several new possibilities for this game."

Aonuma closes his statement by apologizing to fans of the series who were hoping to be playing the game later this year but promises that the end product will be a reward for the extra wait,

“I hope to use the added time to make a Zelda on Wii U that will reward you for your patience. So thank you for your continued support."

It seems that with Nintendo’s list of other games set for release this year, almost all of their long standing series’ will be making an appearance and that Link and friends will be late to the party. Let’s hope they bring cake.
