Hawken Comes To PS4 And Xbox One

For fans of the Xbox One's Titanfall, you'll be glad to know that the free-to-play mech based first person shooter, Hawken will be making it's way onto Xbox One and Playstation 4. For those who don't know, Hawken is a title predecessing Titanfall with its release in 2012 for the PC.

"Hawken is a multiplayer first person shooter that places you inside a mechanized war machine on the battlefield of a dystopian world. With tactical fast-paced gameplay in customizable and upgradable mechs across multiple competitive modes, Hawken is explosively fun."

Following some difficulties with Hawken's original development team, Meteor Games, that resulted in the closing of their Seattle and LA offices, Hawken was acquired by Reloaded Games in 2015. It was then that Reloaded Games began work on porting the title to consoles, with the intention to "make sure Hawken didn’t disappear."

Following a year of troublesome UI issues and tedious merging of code for the Playstation 4 and Xbox one (fully detailed in the dev diary here) Hawken was ready for release on console. The title offers a array of features including:

  • 26 unique mechs in 3 classes. Lightweight assassin-like mechs to heavy bruiser mechs.
  • Extensive customization from; weaponry, upgrades, enhancements, consumables and cosmetic customization options.
  • 6 game modes including; Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Missle Assault, Siege, Co-op Bot Destruction.
  • 9 Playable environments, from cityscapes to post-apocalyptic wastelands.
  • Team based gameplay.

Hawken is scheduled for release on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 on the 1st of July 2016.
